» A Red Flag Warning for Park Point beaches is in effect immediately and continuing until 10 a.m. Thursday, the Duluth Fire Department announced in a presss release. A Red Flag Warning means that wind and/or wave conditions support deadly rip currents. Rip currents are life-threatening to anyone entering the surf. Everyone should stay out of the water regardless of swimming experience. There are currently no lifeguards at Park Point. You will be notified if surf conditions improve before this warning period expires. Surf condition flag locations are at 12th Street beach, Lafayette Square and Park Point beach.
