The Spartans battled Duluth Denfeld to the wire Friday night, before losing 5-4. Junior goaltender Paxton Paine makes the first stop and doesn’t give up many rebounds, and junior forwards Aaron Miller and Aaron Wakefield-Zubiate are big-time talents. Freshman defenseman Mitch Anderson was impressive against a big, strong and veteran Hunters forward corp. The young, gritty Spartans play with a confident edge and compete as strongly as any team in the area.
Superior and Duluth Marshall boast the best young talent in the area.
