“The boys have put together a solid season considering how young we are, and to be honest, my outlook for the state tourney is good,” Spartans coach Jason Kalin said in an eMail message Tuesday morning. “We have the chemistry and athleticism that it takes to get through three games in three days. One of the biggest hurdles will be matching lines and making sure we use as much of our personnel as possible to eliminate fatigue.
“We are ready to gut out the best performance we can and I know our focus is on reclaiming a state championship. We understand what kind of teams stand in our way but we are confident in our abilities and we believe we have a great chance.”
Semifinal games are scheduled for 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday, and the final is 2:15 p.m. Saturday.
